Tonight is a great night for TV — first we have my fave Gossip Girl and then we travel across the country to the The Hills. Can’t wait, especially because tonight is an extra special episode of LC’s show. The hot band White Tie Affair will be making a special performance. Apparently Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen are not being warmly welcomed to their new NYC neighborhood. According to Hollywood Rag the two tiny moguls have completely disrupted the peace and quiet of their West Village street. The neighbors aren’t happy about their constant partying and their large amounts of security and wish they could be more like the other celebs living around there — Sarah Jessica Parker, Liv Tyler and Giselle. They may have more money than most people twice their age, but it looks like the twins should move to a younger neighborhood or keep it down. Right?
More news from the young Hollywood crowd that we don’t hear too much about anymore — Perez tells us that Nicole Richie still has some “tough” in her. At the NYC Fashion Week Charlotte Ronson after-party last week, Nicole accosted a fan. Yes, a Swedish tourist was taking photos of her and she jumped across the velvet rope and screamed “I’m not an animal,” grabbed the camera and smashed it to the ground. Wow Nicole. Do you guys think this true?

So, in case you haven’t hit the newsstands lately, Anne Hathaway is gracing the new cover of W, looking gorgeous as always and rocking a very intricate, braided updo. In the new issue,
Leighton Meester claims that not only can she sing, but that she will be releasing an album soon to boot! The Gossip Girl, who appeared in the movie Drive Thru, has release a cover of “Bette Davis Eyes,” revealing the inner rock chick that embodies everything her alter-ego Blake stands against!
Good news first! Given the success of 90210 (2.0), alumn Jennie Garth will apparently be featured in up to five more episodes of the new teen drama on the CW. Downside? In the 18-34 demographic, the show has already dropped 30% in ratings from its series premiere! Can those Californian kids take the heat?

Doesn't it seem like Usher and wife, Tameka Foster just had their first baby like yesterday? Well according to sources over at In Touch Weekly the couple are reportedly expecting baby #2 already! If the baby rumors are true, we send our congrats to the ever-growing family!
Ever since the VMA's this weekend, comparisons have been running rampant that Christina Aguilera's new image is a total rip-off of dance-queen Lady Gaga's super-funky persona (we do see some similarities), but Lady Gaga is taking it all as a compliment. According to Perez, Lady Gaga spoke to Blender magazine about the comparisons and had this to say:
"A lot of people have been saying that she is copying my style with her new song. I guess it bares somewhat of a resemblance but I wouldn't say she is copying me. This type of dance music is becoming more popular and I don't blame her for wanting to make and perform it. Her performance was great and it's (Keeps Gettin Better) a hot track."
Good to see Lady Gaga taking the high road and keeping it classy. And as for Christina, how hot was that remixed version of "Genie in a Bottle" at the VMA's??? Here's hoping that version of the song is on her upcoming "best of" collection coming out this winter. Check out the performance below!
And sticking with VMA related news, if you watched the show you know the Jonas Brothers basically got poked fun of all night by host Russell Brand for their pledge of abstinence and purity rings, but the guys are apparently pulling a "Mariah Carey" and "shaking it off"! According to MTV, the brothers Jonas, who are currently in the U.K. promoting their flick "Camp Rock", spoke to the BBC about this weekends VMA's and had this to say about Brand's jokes:
"For us, it's cool to see that he recognizes we are gentlemen," Nick, 15, said. His older brother, Kevin, 20, speculated that Brand miscalculated the audience. "I think he focused on certain things and didn't move off of them," he said. "People's attention spans in America need more than that." They also seem to be fans of the comic. "I think he did a good job [at the show]," Nick said. "We saw him on Conan O'Brien and thought he was hilarious."
Good to see these young lads developing a thick-skin in this business and keeping it moving, can't hate on that!

This is just too cute! At the Democratic National Convention in Denver on Monday night, Barack Obama’s daughters Malia and Sasha took to the stage after their mom’s speech. They had no idea that their dad was going to be beamed in via satellite and when Michelle Obama told them she had a surprise for them, they asked, “Is it the Jonas Brothers?” The girls were sad because they were in Denver the same weekend that the JoBros were in their hometown of Chicago. The Dancing with the Stars fall season line-up has been announced! E! Online has the scoop. Most random contestant — in my opinion — is Cody Linley (of Hannah Montana fame!) I didn’t know he could dance! Will you watch? Bonus: on Sept. 24th, both the Jonas Brothers and Jesse McCartney will be appearing on the DWTS results show, so mark your calendars!

With his blog rants and attention-seeking antics, it is obvious that John Mayer loves to be in the spotlight, especially when it comes to the paparazzi. He has even been known to tip off the paps with his where-a-bouts from time to time. But Celebitchy tells us that since his split with Jennifer Aniston, his stake has severely plummeted, despite what he may like to believe. The photogs are just not interested anymore. You see, a picture of John with Jen was worth up to $20,000 and a picture with him alone a meager $200. Awe. Poor Johnny Poo.
And moving on to a new couple, or at least a new twosome caught canoodling — according to SocialiteLife Miss Kirsten Dunst was seen getting friendly with a certain computer spokesman and Drew Barrymore ex. Justin Long seems like a really sweet guy and all, but is it just me, or does it seem like Kiki always goes for Drew’s sloppy seconds? Last time it was my man the Strokes drummer Fabrizio Moretti. I guess in Hollywood, recycling each other’s boyfriends is all a part of the game.

You all know by now how much I love my boys the Jonas Brothers. Remember how I wrote about the press conference that I attended about Nick’s partnership with Bayer Diabetes Care earlier this month? Well his first initiative is up and running. The Walk in Nick’s Shoes (W.I.N.S.) sweepstakes is set to benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation’s November 1st Walk for the Cure in L.A. Finding this online today as I browsed for Gossip Roundup stories, I decided that this piece of news deserved it's own blog.
"Is your son or daughter obsessed with Hannah Montana (I take this to mean Miley Cyrus as well) or the Jonas Brothers? Do they have posters ALL over their room? Do you have to make sure to keep up with their latest releases because if not, your kid won't talk to you? Are you worried their obsession is becoming TOO extreme? If your son or daughter has an obsession, and you'd like Dr. Phil's help, send us an email today! Please only respond if you're willing to appear on national television."
As some of the interns and I talked about how CRAZY it is that these acts have gotten so big that fans now need their own INTERVENTION — we had to ask, who did the producers of the show come across that inspired this idea? Why hasn't it ever been an issue (at least enough to spur television production) with other big acts — like the New Kids on the Block? Backstreet Boys? *NSYNC? Hanson? And who are these people that won't talk to their parents because they don't know the latest gossip on teen celebrities? (Seems kind of out there to me!)
So, here's what I take issue with: Do you think that having posters all over your room warrants 'obsession'? To be honest when i was growing up, I had many-a-poster of Devon Sawa wall-papering my bedroom but I grew out of it! No posters (of any celebrity for that matter) stayed up on my walls past middle school. My personal opinion is that while I agree that it's EXTREMELY important to make sure that kids understand the balance between reality and fantasy, celeb crushes are something that young teenagers go through. I think we need to give teenagers more credit. They're smart! I think that teenagers DO realize that they're not going to date a Jonas brother and that Miley/Hannah is not going to be their best friend.
Dr. Phil always likes a challenge, doesn't he? Okay then, Dr. Phil - I'll challenge you on this. I think you need to let teenage girls wallpaper their bedrooms, scream their heads off at shows and follow these acts rise to success (although maybe not to the point of waiting outside hotels.) While I agree that it's important not to let it interfere with your life, I think being a fan is really just a part of being a teen. And once you get your first real boyfriend or girlfriend, it's amazing how quickly the posters come down and these Disney crushes become a thing of the past. I would hazard a guess that no hardcore Jonas or Miley crush makes it past the age of 16.
So what do you think about this? Do you think a Miley Cyrus/Jonas Brother intervention is needed? Or do you agree that it's just a faze that teens will grow out of?

Back to work! Looks like the hand injury that de-railed Transformers 2 production is not slowing Shia down anymore. According to Perez, Shia was back on set on Thursday for the first time in two weeks. Apparently, his hand injury has been written into the movie’s plot. Yay! My favorite celebrity couple, Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling, are back together, says Perez. Oh come on, you know you were rooting for them too! How could anyone NOT fall in love with them after The Notebook?

Perez has the scoop on Hollywood’s latest marriage: Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi. They have been together for about 4 years, and earlier this year Ellen announced plans to wed on her talk show. Everyone loves to say that despite being 14 years old Ali Lohan looks like an older woman, and I’ll admit in some pics she really does. The weird thing is I interviewed her last year and she was the tiniest little young thing ever. Anway, these days Ali is looking even “older” than usual and the rumor mill is brewing. Some supposed before and after pics in US Weekly have lead people to believe Ali had a boob job. But according to Lindsay, it's not true. Here’s a funny little rumor about our man Zac Efron, I’ll let you decide if you think it's true. According to Perez Zac is a little more than obsessed with his looks — especially his hair. First it was rumored that he spent much of Ashley Tisdale’s recent Bday bash in the bathroom flat-ironing his locks, and now we find out that Zac was having a little bit of a bad hair day at the Teen Choice Awards and he was not happy about it. Zac was so upset that the humidity was messing up his hair that he went backstage in search of a flat iron for his “girlfriend Vanessa” and minutes later was found desperately trying to bring back the life to his flat do. Jennifer Aniston and John Mayer are no longer together says Perez. Apparently, John was the one who ended things. But before we start feeling bad for Jen, the New York Daily News is reporting that she’s already dating someone new. Did you think they were going to last or did you see this coming?
I will admit that I have a soft spot for Disney celebs — as if anyone hasn’t already figured this out — so I kind of feel bad for Vanessa Hudgens if this is true. It is rumored that she is being sued for $5 million. According to the Huffington Post, Vanessa and music producer, Johnny Riviera, signed into an agreement before her huge HSM success which claims that he is entitled to equal share of all her earnings. Wow. That’s a lot of earnings. Thoughts?
I just can’t escape the Jonas Brothers this week — the’re everywhere I turn — literally. I’ve been seeing homemade JB signs as I head home from work. Since Friday, they have managed to attract over 10,000 people to Bryant Park with a performance on Good Morning America, sell out three shows at Madison Square Garden, shut down Times Square at midnight with an appearance at the Virgin Megastore, and cause pandemonium with an impromptu performance at Soho’s Apple Store. Can’t get enough? They’ll be on TRL all week long as part of Jonas Fan Week and new CD “A Little Bit Longer” is in stores now. Tell me, what songs should I download off of their new album? Give me your faves – I’m totally going to be taking your advice!
