Jessica Simpson

Let’s just not talk about any member of the Spears family today, okay. So here we go— whether you’re a fan of Jessica Simpson or not, this is pretty mean. We all heard that her Dallas quarterback boyfriend Tony Romo had the worst game of his career while she was in the stands (or vip section) last week. Now Perez is reporting that a Carolina Panthers fan (the Cowboys play them next week) has created a website where you can download Jessica Simpson masks for the fans in the stands to wear to distract Tony. Quite hilarious yes, but I still feel bad for both of them. Imagine if the whole crowd was wearing her face.

Look at this pic of Zac Efron. What do you think of his curly hair? Do it is naturally like that and he usually straightens it? Or did he use a curling iron to get those wavy locks? What do you think of guys that are really particular about their looks?

With all the mean celeb gossip going on these days, let’s end on a good note. Denzel Washington has donated $1 million to the college where he filmed his last movie, reports Celebitchy. The movie The Great Debaters is about the success of the debate team in the 1930s at Wiley College, a small predominantly African-American college Marshall, Texas. Denzel gave the money to the college re-establish the debate team. Wow, now that is a perfect way to say goodbye and happy holidays!

Hope you all enjoy your break. I will chat with you all again next year!

Megan

Lily Allen

So, obviously the big news of the week is that Jamie Lynn Spears is pregnant. But she’s not the only one: Lily Allen also has a bun in the oven. The 22-year-old singer (also pretty young to be having a baby) and her boyfriend of three months (yup), 37-year-old (yup) Chemical Brothers member Ed Simons, are expecting, says TMZ. Wow, is it the thing to be pregnant in Hollywood or what? Now don’t any of you get any ideas.

Okay, back to Jamie Lynn — Perez is reporting that Kevin Federline knew about her pregnancy before Britney even did. KFed was warned in advance by Lynn (apparently he is very close with the family), and Brit had to find out from the media like everybody else. Wow, that must have hurt. Poor Brit.

And with even more Jamie Lynn news (how long do you think this will last?), Dlisted is reporting that J.L. (can we just call her that?) and her man (boy) Casey Aldridge are actually broken up. She’s even asked her mom to be in the delivery room and not him. There's also talk that he could be charged with statutory rape because of their 19 to 16 age difference. Now that would just be horrible.

Okay, let’s just end on a completely different subject — in a recent interview, Nicole Kidman said it upsets her that her kids don’t call her "Mom." In an even more recent interview, Katie Holmes said that those exact same kids call her "Mom," reports Socialite Life. Well, that just doesn’t seem right. Are you on Team Nicole or Team Katie?

XOXO,
Megan

jamie lynn spears is pregnant!

Jamie Lynn Spears and Casey Aldridge

Nickelodeon's Zoey 101 star Jamie Lynn Spears announced yesterday that she is 12-weeks pregnant with her boyfriend Casey Alridge's baby. The 16-year-old didn't tell anyone for the first two weeks so that she could decide what to do on her own, without anyone's influence. She told her mother, Lynne, just before Thanksgiving. Reports say that her big sister, Britney, found out this week.

What do you guys think? Let us know!

Can't wait to hear from you!

Brad Pitt

There’s one man out there that no matter what age the person may be, everyone is in agreement that he is one fine daddy. And that man turns 44 today— Happy Birthday Brad! How do you think Brad is spending his big day? Ummmm, maybe hanging with the kids and Miss Angelina?

Are you a Hills fan? What about Laguna Beach? If you so, you must remember the feud between Kristin Cavallari and L.C. I mean, they did date a lot of the same guys. Anyway, Perez is reporting that Kristin may join the cast of The Hills. That just doesn’t make any sense to me. Isn’t it supposed to be about a group of friends, I mean, Heidi and Lauren were friends in the beginning. Well, adding Kristin to the show will definitely create more drama, but aren’t there already enough rumors floating around that the show is a fake. If true, this may just confirm that.

The end of the year is always full of celebrity lists, and Autograph magazine has it’s own. Can you guess? Yes, which celebs are the best autographers (nicest, willingness to sign etc.) and which ones are not. Celebitchy is reporting that Johnny Depp has topped the list for the third year in a row, and surprisingly, Will Ferrell is at the bottom. Supposedly the funnyman mocks and makes fun of fans when they ask him for autographs. Well, that is not very nice at all. But at the same time, how many people can say that Will Ferrell made fun of them? It would probably be hilarious (at least for your friends) and maybe even better than his signature on a piece of paper.

Xoxo,

Reese Witherspoon

Pamela Anderson was married for 72 days before she filed for divorce from her latest husband Rick Solomon (the one who made that infamous video with Paris Hilton) on Friday, says Perez. This is the third marriage for both of them. Pam’s last one to Kid Rock lasted three months and they had three different weddings. So strange, maybe she just really likes weddings? What do you think?

Speaking of quickie marriages in Vegas, rumors are circulating that Britney Spears (her last one lasted 55 hours) may do it again. According to Dlisted Miss Spears may marry her friend Sam Lufti (who marries their friends?), but her lawyers are trying to talk her out of it or at least get her to use a pre-nup. But apparently Brit isn’t listening. Surprise, surprise.

You often hear about stars falling in love on the set, but I always wonder about stars that play opposite each other but find that they just don’t get along (I’m not bitter). Well, it is happening with no other than Reese Witherspoon and Vince Vaughn on the set of their new movie Four Christmases. Apparently his laid-back attitude just doesn’t mesh with Reese’s type A personality, reports Celebitchy. She is the type who always looks perfect and ready to go and he is the type who just rolls out of bed and goes with the flow. What type are you?

Xoxo,
Megan

cobra starship stops by cg!

Cobra Starship

And the most entertaining band award goes to….Cobra Starship, no question. I was lucky enough to hang out with three members of the alt-rock band when they stopped by the CG! offices this past week. The boys were super nice and super tall—all towering above entertainment editor Rachel Chang, fellow intern Izzi and I. The trio even joked that for the upcoming holidays, they’d be willing to donate some of their shins to their significantly shorter friends Fall Out Boy. (Haha!)

Lead singer Gabe Saporta, guitarist Ryland Blackinton and bassist Alex Suarez are more than just cute boys with instruments—they kept us cracking up the entire time.

You may have heard their hit “Bring It” from the Snakes on a Place soundtrack or their most recent album, ¡Viva La Cobra! released on Pete Wentz’s Decaydence Label. But if not, check them out on Myspace and I promise, you will be hooked. The band also includes Victoria Asher on keytar (yes a girl—I know, awesome!) and Nate Navarro on drums.

These boys were up for anything—I mean anything—and you’re in luck because CG! cameras caught it all on tape! So stay tuned for the video, which will be up on cosmogirl.com soon! Tell me CG!s, how excited are you?!?

7 backstage secrets from the z100 jingle ball!

December 16, 2007 at 8:00PM by Rachel Chang |

Gossip Girl's Chace Crawford and CosmoGIRL!'s Rachel Chang backstage at Z100 Jingle Ball 2007

Ever since I've moved to New York five years ago, I know it's really the holiday season when the Z100 Jingle Ball comes around. In years past, I've been lucky enough to hang out in the On 3 Productions Gift Lounge with the Pussycat Dolls, Chris Brown, Natasha Bedingfield, and The Click Five and also soak up the star-studded scene backstage where I've spotted everyone from Lindsay Lohan and Hilary Duff to Jessica Simpson and Destiny's Child!

And with each passing year, the lineup just seems to get better than the last... every year, I come home and literally just sit and stare at my wall thinking, did all that just really happen?! It's just always been one of those events where crazy stuff with the stars happens that you couldn't even dream up if you try. And this year was no exception, here's why....

1- When Gossip Girl's Chace Crawford found us backstage, the first words out of his mouth were, "I heard a rumor you guys were here!" (Apparently rumors that Gossip Guys hear are accurate- ha!) He chatted with us about how excited he was to be at the big Madison Square Garden concert to see all the amazing acts... and then we whipped out a surprise for him from our February issue that made him blush! No, we're not telling you what it is now, but trust me, Chace fans, you'll want to grab this issue the moment it hits newsstands on January 1!

2- And that wasn't the only surprise we had for a Jingle Ball star... we showed Fall Out Boy a preview of our the February issue too, that literally had Pete Wentz speechless. ;)

3- While we were doing our interview with Boys Like Girls, Fall Out Boy was walking by, and Pete poked his head in between all of them and said... "Boys Like CosmoGIRL!s"!!! Haha! Gotta love that Pete! One of the guys added in "Backstreet BOYS Like CosmoGIRLS!" since BSB was on stage at the time. :)

4- When we grabbed Colbie Caillat, I was finally able to ask her the question I've been dying to find out... what exactly is a Bubbly face?! :) Not only did she explain that it's one of those expressions that you make when you're just so happy and excited that you can't help but grin, but she even demonstrated for us! (And we found out we were both wearing Theory tops-- she has good taste- ha!)

5- The Naked Brothers Band also made a surprise appearance backstage... and everytime we asked a question about celeb gals, the two of them duked it out to see who would get to snag which one... especially when it came to Avril Lavigne, who they had just met that night!

6- And of course the hottest act of the night was the Jonas Brothers, who were headlining the big show. It was literally impossible to get to them...but of course the guys made time to squeeze in a quick two minutes for you CosmoGIRL! readers. And what polite boys... even in those two minutes, they each took the time to greet and say goodbye with a heartfelt hug... awww!

7- And a Bonus Jonas Fun Fact! When the guys walked over, they immediately started saying, "Congratulations!" We asked, "For what?!" And they all said, "For being so awesome!!!" That means you guys, CosmoGIRL!s... Kevin, Nick and Joe truly adore each and every one of you!

And that's not even the half of it... we also spotted Backstreet Boys, Hayden Panettiere, Jordin Sparks (who wasn't feeling too well, poor girl!), Perez Hilton, Keri Hilson and Constantine Maroulis backstage.

As a special bonus... this year we caught it all on tape! So keep checking our video page for our exclusive backstage secrets at from the Z100 Jingle Ball 2007! (And find out what Joe Jonas said after we asked him about falling first at the CosmoGIRL! Born to Lead event, and then a week later at the American Music Awards!)

Oh, one more thing... afterwards, we stopped by the after party... and spotted AJ McLean and Howie D from Backstreet Boys bowling just a couple lanes over from Chace and Carrie Underwood (seriously, how cute are they together?!)

Whew! What a Friday night that was! No wonder I'm still so giddy... heehee! So, which of these stars are your faves? And who would be your dream holiday concert lineup? Let us know!

Can't wait to hear from you!

get in the holiday spirit!

December 15, 2007 at 12:00PM by Kristen O'Gorman |

Disco Santa

It’s hard to get in the holiday spirit when you’re away at college. Final exams are looming right around the corner, and that's definitely putting a huge damper on the excitement. Plus, my favorite part of the holiday season is being home with my family to cut down our Christmas tree, decorate the house, and bake cookies. But because of exams, I won’t even be home until three days before Christmas!

To get myself psyched despite missing out on all of the preparations, I’ve been listening to my favorite Christmas songs on repeat. I’m obsessed with Christmas music and it’s finally an appropriate time for it (unlike right after Halloween!)

Here’s my Top 10 favorite holiday songs:

1. “All I Want For Christmas (Is You)” by Mariah Carey
2. “The Chanukah Song” by Adam Sandler
3. “Santa Claus is Coming to Town” by Bruce Springsteen
4. “Happy Xmas (War Is Over)” by John Lennon
5. “My Only Wish” by Britney Spears
6. “White Christmas” by Bing Crosby
7. “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas” by Mel Torme
8. “Christmas Wrapping” by The Waitresses
9. “Jingle Bell Rock” by Bobby Helms
10. “Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer” by Elmo & Patsy

What’s on your holiday playlist?

xoxo,
Kristen

Lindsay Lohan

Didn’t Lindsay Lohan just breakup with Riley Giles, that guy she met in rehab? Yes, in fact, she did—right after Thanksgiving she decided he couldn’t handle her fame and she let him loose. But good old Linds already has a new man, says Dlisted, and she’s even introducing him as her boyfriend. How long do you think the new guy, Spencer Guilbert a 24-year-old USC Grad with his own clothing label, will last?

There were rumors the other day that Ryan Gosling was going for 18-year-old Hayden Panettiere, but this makes a little more sense. Dlisted is reporting that Ryan is dating Dawson’s Creek and Heath Ledger alum Michelle Williams. Even though I am a little jealous (Ryan is my man!), I think they would make a really cute couple.

I swear this rumor floats around every few months— but anyway,Celebitchy is saying that Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaughn are giving it another go. Do you like them as a couple?

Okay guys, I hope you all have a lovely weekend!

Xoxo,
Megan

my friend the movie star!

December 14, 2007 at 12:00PM by Katie Connor |

Zoe Lister-Jones

I used to get really jealous when my friends would do amazing things. But as I've gotten older I've realized that my friends and I are equally awesome just in different ways. Like I'll never be able to hula hoop like Meg or play the banjo like Andrea but hey, I can write about them! And now my friend Zoe Lister-Jones is in a movie! A really good movie! And I couldn't be more excited.

It's called Arranged and in it she plays an Orthodox Jewish girl who makes unlikely friends with a Muslim girl. What do they have in common? (I'll give you a hint: It has to do with the title of the movie and marriages.) Not only is Zoe stunning in this little indie film but she also makes you think. How important is tradition in your life? If your parents and grandparents and great grandparents and great-great grandparents were all in arranged marriages would you do it too? Tell me what you think. In the meantime I'll be busy shouting Zoe's praises.

Heart,
Katie, Features Editor
P.S. If you're in the New York area check out Arranged at the Quad Cinema! It's the perfect friend-date movie for you and your BFF.

Jessica Alba at the

PETA's new campaign is attacking the Olsen twins. The ad, which claims that "fur is worn by beautiful animals and ugly people," nicknames their version of the duo Hairy-Kate and Trashley Trollsen. While I do think the Olsens should reconsider using fur in their fashion lines (I prefer fur on the animal), I don't think it's very nice to call out only Mary-Kate and Ashley. There are tons of celebrities who wear fur on the red carpet! What do you think? Is PETA being unfair?

Perez is reporting that The Beatles' former hairdresser auctioned off a lock of John Lennon's hair for $48,000! The hair was estimated to only sell for $4,000 to $6,000. The appraiser obviously underestimated the power of a fan's love. But let this be a lesson to you all, CG!s: If you ever become a hairdresser for a famous band ... (hehe, just kidding!).

I'm not sure if all of you remember Pee-Wee's Playhouse (it was my favorite show when I was a kid), but rumor has it that it might be coming to the big screen, says TV Crunch. And if so, Johnny Depp might be playing Pee-Wee. I don't know how I feel about this. I'm sure he'd do an amazing job, but it's kind of weird — even for Johnny's standards. What do you think?

And what's all the buzz around Jessica Alba today? The Daily Stab is saying that she's pregnant! Supposedly she and ex-boyfriend Cash Warren are expecting a child sometime late spring, early summer. Congrats, Jessica! We hope she (or he!) gets your eyes!
