1. Lightly dust translucent powder all over your face after you have applied your makeup, especially over your eyes. The powder will set your makeup and keep it looking fresh for the rest of the day.

2. Use pencil or liquid eyeliner instead of an eye crayon. Use black eyeshadow with an angled brush for a subtler line that won’t run in the heat.

3. Try to avoid using a lot of foundation. If you need something to even out your skin tone or hide blemishes, try the Benefit It Stick, $18, Sephora.

4. Use waterproof mascara and eyeliner to keep from getting black smudges around your eyes.

5. Remember that during the hot summer months, wearing tons of makeup looks heavy and unnatural. Lighter makeup will give you a more sun-kissed look and allow your skin to breathe more easily.
