1. FIND WHERE YOUR BROW SHOULD BEGIN:
Lay a pencil vertically on your face, point facing down, so it rests on your right nostril. The spot where the pencil meets your brow is where that brow should start. Use angled tweezers (try Tweezerman Pink Bamboo Angled Tweezers, $25, tweezerman.com) to pluck hairs growing to the left of that point. Repeat on your left brow (plucking hairs to the right of the pencil).

2. FIND WHERE YOUR BROW SHOULD END:
Lay a pencil on an angle against your face so it touches the edge of your right nostril and the outer corner of your right eye. The spot where the pencil passes your brow is where it should end; pluck hairs growing to the right of that point. Repeat on your left brow, plucking to the left.

3. FIND AND MARK THE BOTTOM EDGE OF EACH BROW:
Using a white eye pencil (try Wet n Wild Eye Liner Pencil in White, $1, at drugstores), draw a line along the bottom edge of your brow that mirrors the top edge of your brow (whether that's an angle, a slight curve, or even a straight line). The line should be above stray hairs, but below the fullest part of your brow. Step back from the mirror and look at the line. If there are too many hairs beneath it (like, more than 20), wash off and redraw your white line. Remember, the goal is not to overpluck!
