French Braid

• Separate a small section of hair where you want the braid to start into three even sections.
• Cross the right section over the middle section so that the original right section is now the middle section.
• Cross the left section over the middle section so the original left section is now the middle section.
• Gently pull all the sections away from each other to tighten the braid.
• Next, lift a small section of hair to the right of your braid and add that new, small section of hair to the existing section on the right. Then cross the entire right section over the middle section.
• Tighten the braid.
• Lift a small section of hair to the left of your braid and add that new, small section of hair to the existing section on the left. Then cross the entire left section over the middle section.
• Continue the process, alternating right and left sections and tightening the braid each time you cross a section over the middle.
• When you get to the spot where you want the French braid to end, secure it against your scalp with an elastic (or braid the loose hair all the way to your ends and secure ends with an elastic).
