Shopping on a Budget

With all the major news headlines about the economy crisis lately, money is on everyone's mind.  As a college student, the gas prices and other rising everyday expenses have not been helping my wallet.  I'm not ready to give up on fashion and so I've been getting creative with how I can shop on a budget!  Here are some ways that you can watch what you spend and have a fashionable fall wardrobe.

• Check out thrift stores! I know it sounds kind of strange...wearing other people's used clothes. But you'll be surprised what you can find. I've gotten designer clothes, and some of them still had the tags on, for a fraction of the price. You can also have a lot of fun finding vintage pieces at thrift stores.
• Shop the sales racks. So the discount rack at Urban Outfitters is mostly last season's clothes, but so what? Fall is all about layering and those cute blouses and tanks would go perfect with a cardigan for fall.
• Swap wardrobes! You and your friends all get bored with the clothes that you have. So why not swap old clothes? Get together and bring all those sweaters and shirts that you're sick of. Clothing can look completely different on another person. Plus, it's a great way to get use out of that stuff sitting in the back of your closet!
• Mix it up. Add a bag from H&M or a dress from Target to your wardrobe. You can find really cute stuff at these types of stores and save a lot of money.
