a turkey-less thanksgiving

November 21, 2007 at 8:00PM by Carina Kolodny |

Turkey Day

Ever since I was six I’ve been a vegetarian. Growing up in Southern California made my dietary restrictions pretty easy; a bunch of granola-heads makes for lots of vegetarian cuisine. However there is one time of the year where my vegetarianism makes me feel way left out of the festivities: Thanksgiving AKA The Turkey Massacre.

Of course I can’t eat turkey. I can’t eat stuffing either because it’s mostly made with chicken broth. Potatoes are a no-go when they’re already smothered with gravy and it pretty much goes down hill from there.

To add to my list of party woes, I don’t drink alcohol AT ALL. Being around a bunch of crazy, tipsy, turkey-comma relatives is probably at the bottom of my list for ways to spend a fun evening.

So CG!s, any suggestions on how to spice up my thanksgiving? Any horror stories or your own Thanksgivings?

Happy Turkey day ladies,
Love,

Carina K.

PS The photo is of my two crazy cousins at a family get together. =)
