act your age! or not...

My cousins (who are in their late 20s) are coming to visit me this weekend, and I'm planning tons of fun things to do: going out for yummy dinners, shopping on Madison Avenue, and ... watching The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything. Yup, we decided to go and see a VeggieTales movie made for kids less than half my age!

My cousins bought me the VeggieTales videos when I was 10 or 11. It's become kind of a family inside joke, and I'm still definitely attached to my childhood memories of singing along with characters that look like cucumbers and carrots!

I'm pretty sure we'll get some funny looks in the theater from confused preschoolers and their parents. But I think it's totally fun to indulge in silly things that made you smile way back when. One of my friends bought a Slip 'n' Slide before heading to college, and another friend still stashes juice boxes in her purse when she goes out for the day! Remember those sparkly jelly sandals that were all the rage in elementary school? I was SO pumped this summer to find out that designers were making supercute jelly wedges and flats. And after a long day of classes, don't you wish you had naptime to look forward to?
