We asked NYC makeup artist Emily Kate Warren how to transition your makeup bag from summer to fall. Read her top tips and be on your way to a fabulous fall look.
*Scrape the top layer of your powdered shadows in case they collected a top layer of oil from your sweat over the summer.
*Makeup sponges need to be washed once a week and thrown out each month. You also can just buy disposable sponges like these wedge ones at ulta.com.
*Switch from a waterproof mascara to a regular one . It isnt necessary for everyday use after summer since youre not sweating as much or doing as many water sports.
*If youve been tanning (with SPF) all summer, you probably have put your bronzers on hold. Add them back into your arsenal since you wont be at the beach any longer.
*Amp up your lip gloss by switching juicy, coral tones out with richer, berry ones for fall.
*Have any lipsticks or cream blushes that melted in your car from the summer heat? Dont throw them away. Scrape them all out of their containers with a brush or Q-tip and combine them all in an old Tupperware container or pillbox and mush them together to create an entirely different color to recycle them for fall.

If you get gum stuck in your hair, rub mayo in it until the gum dissolves right out.

To help maximize your sunless tan, dont shave as often as you normally would, and moisturize your entire body at least twice a day.

To achieve a pouty, sexy mouth, emphasize your top lip by dabbing just a touch of gloss in the center.

When you are painting your nails at home, don't just paint your nails with the color and be done. Start with a base coat to strengthen and protect the nails, then put the color on, and then finish with a clear topcoat to add gloss and sheen.

We love Maybelline Great Lash Mascara. It gives your lashes amazing volume and goes on so smoothly.

Crack a few eggs and beat them together in a bowl. After shampooing, massage the eggs through your hair and wait a moment before rinsing them out thoroughly. The eggs, surprisingly enough, help repair and strengthen your hair follicles. You will get silky hair with great body.

A second coat of mascara will make your lashes look thicker and fuller. But if you are thinking of applying a second coat, better do it before the first coat dries, or else you will only end up clumping the lashes.

If you get a run in your tights, don't freak out. Just take a little bit of clear nail polish, put it over the run, and go about the rest of your day. The nail polish will stop the tights from ripping any further.

Take a dryer sheet and rub it on the back of your legs or the inside of your dress to prevent static cling.

To prevent your mascara from smudging, apply powder onto your lower eyelids first before putting on the mascara. Also, while you are putting the mascara on, try not to blink, or else it will definitely stick to your eyelids rather than to your lashes.

If you are having trouble taming your eyebrows, take an old (clean) toothbrush and spray it with a little hairspray, and then lightly brush your brows. The stickiness of the hairspray will help keep your brows in place.

Always avoid overplucking your eyebrows. They will look better when they are fuller. Just look how fresh and naturally beautiful Ashley Olsen looks with fuller, less sculpted eyebrows.

Store nail polish in the refrigerator so that it maintains a smooth consistency.

After tweezing your eyebrows, place cool, wet tea bags on the area around your eyebrows to soothe the skin and make the redness disappear faster.
