Boost Mobile Pro Surfing Competition Day 1: Hot Guys

First off, I am not trying to brag or anything, but instead of working from the 20th Floor of the Hearst Tower in NYC this week, I’m in San Clemente, California blogging from the beach. You see, I’m at the Boost Mobile Pro Surfing Competition hanging out with the likes of Kelly Slater and a bunch of hot surfersl from all over the world. I even spotted Channing Tatum from Prison Break, hopefully he comes back tomorrow and I can chat with him for you. I’m a lucky girl, I know. But I’ll be filling you in for the rest of the week, it'll be just like you're here with me!

Today I discovered how a surfing competition really works, from the point system, to the heats, to the judging. It was fun to watch and they’ll be a lot more of that to come, but today I decided to talk to the guys on the beach. Hot!

So I’d say most girls like a cute surfer boy, but the real question is: do guys like surfer girls? I decided it would be my day’s mission to find out, and I got some seriously mixed results.

A bunch of the surfers were totally down with their girls shredding (a new word I learned for surfing). “It’s great to see girls out there having a good time not shopping for shoes, and it’s nice to have something to look at while you’re in the water,” a hottie from Australia told me. A California cutie explained that he loves girls who are “active, adventurous, and try new things,” while another said he loves surfer girls because of their “strength, self-confidence, and healthy lifestyle.” The sexy surfer in the picture above loves to watch a girl do a good “duck dive.” Don’t worry, I didn’t know what that surfing move was either.

But not all the guys I met were into girls who could ride the waves. A sun-tanned 17-year-old from Hawaii (who had obviously dated a surfer girl before) told me he likes to keep the surf talk between him and his buddies. And a cutie from Newport Beach had the same idea. “I like surfing to be my own thing.”

So in the end, if you’re a beach bum or you would rather stay out of the water, everyone has a chance to score a cute surfer guy. Not a bad thing to learn on my first day at the beach. Now I have to run off to the Surfer Poll Award Night to meet the best (and cutest) of the ocean. I’ll be back tomorrow with all the deets and more importantly, hot pics.
