Chris Brown Assaults Rihanna

This is some pretty sad news to start the week off with, but it is certainly worthy of talking about. Perez tells us that Chris Brown was arrested after a pre-Grammy party on Saturday night for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend Rihanna. Apparently the couple was arguing in their car when it turned physical and she ended up at the hospital in tears with “contusions and bites.” Brown turned himself in to police the next day, posted $50,000 bail and was released. Both he and Rihanna backed out of the Grammy’s the day of. That is just so sad (we even named them one of the Best Couples of 2008), arguments with your significant other should never turn violent. We wish Rihanna the best and for Chris to get help.

Chris and Rihanna weren’t the only ones who backed out of the award show last minute — Dlisted tells us that Usher had to cancel all his Grammy plans because he had to go be by his wife’s side in Brazil after a “routine” surgery (better known as plastic surgery) went bad. She is in stable condition now, but this just goes to show that all surgery can be dangerous and it’s crazy what people put themselves through for vanity. Would you ever get plastic surgery?

Despite the absence of a few peeps, the Grammy’s ran smoothly. And what about M.I.A. performing with Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, T.I., and Kanye West 9 months pregnant to the day. Yes, she performed on the day her baby was due. That is pretty hard core.
