Chris Brown Sentenced to Five Years Probation

One of the biggest stories of the year has finally come to a close. Singer Chris Brown received his sentence Tuesday from a Los Angeles judge for his domestic violence against Rihanna this past February.

L.A. Superior Court Judge Patricia Schnegg sentenced Brown to five years probation, which includes prohibiting any contact with Rihanna. He is ordered to stay 100 yards away from her unless they happen to be at the same event, in which case he must remain 10 yards away (we're guessing that's going to be more than a little awkward).

On top of his Rihanna ban, Brown will have to wash cars and remove graffiti as part of a six-month community service agreement. If Brown violates any of these restrictions there is a good chance he will wind up in prison, as the judge warned him. "I'm not immune to any chatter on the airwaves," Schnegg said. "Do you understand, Mr. Brown, that any violation of this order is a violation of your probation and it comes with the possible penalty of prison?"

So that's it — after months of tabloid gossip, public apologies, and speculation the case is finally closed. We're interested to see what happens to Brown's music career now that all is said and done. Is a recovery album in the making?
