One of the things I love in life is being able to say "I told you so." Remember how we reported that Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz announced that they were pregnant at their wedding reception a few weeks ago? Well, according to today's New York Post, the pair has confirmed their pregnancy to the press.

The Wentz-Simpson duo said that they wanted to "wait until after the first trimester" to break the news that Ashlee is expecting, putting the child's birth at around this November or early December.

What interests me the most about the announcement isn't the due date, but the fact that they made it a point to say that they're expecting their "first child." Needless to say, this implies even more children down the line – maybe even a brood big (read: the new Angelina and Brad?) enough to start their own band.

It also seems like the couple is transitioning well into family life. Ashlee's even changing her last name to Wentz, according to People. Ashlee has said that it's a "great tradition" to do so, even though hubby Pete said that he left the decision up to her.

The easy way to end this would be to make a bunch of references to if they're expecting a Fall Out Boy or Girl. Instead, I'd rather wish the two of them the best of luck. Balancing a marriage, a baby, and two music careers? Sounds like a successful life to me!
