2024 Government Intern Blog: Week Three

“Don’t let anyone tell you it’s not possible — it is!”

I will carry those words of advice with me for a very long time, and I have Madame Speaker Nancy Pelosi to thank for that. I think it’s pretty unbelievable that I was given that direct instruction from the highest-ranked female politician in the nation!

This week was our CosmoGirl trip to Washington, D.C. and I could not have asked for a more enriching and motivating experience. I think that everyone has potential to achieve their dreams; they must capture that potential, harness it, and then use it to catapult themselves to greatness.

I am sure of this fact after engaging in a worthwhile discussion with the Madame Speaker herself. She crushed all my doubts and convinced me that I could create the future I wanted…I only had to be myself. Isn’t that what all of us truly want to be in the end? A person who is confident, successful, and beautiful in her own skin, because she knows it fits her better than any other?

I hope that all of us strive for this goal. Remember, we are born to lead!
