It's Music Festival Season!

Ah, it’s that time of year again! As the summer heat cranks up, so do some of the hottest and most idolized bands and musical artists of our time. It’s a little thing I like to call, “Music Festival Season”, and I am an avid attendee. There’s nothing like trekking through mass crowds, camping out at different stages and jammin’ out to some great music. A few of my favorite and upcoming festivals include Chicago’s Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits and Bonnaroo, which is currently upon us this weekend of June 12-15 in Manchester, TN. I’ve been to all three, road-tripping it and all, and it’s definitely tough to pick a favorite.

I might be a little partial to Austin City Limits, since it’s in my home state of Texas, and I have attended the most years (with it being year number five this Sept. 26-28 at Zilker Park). Foo Fighters are headlining this year, with other great shows performed by Beck, Manu Chao, The Raconteurs, Gnarls Barkley and more.

I also wouldn’t mind being in the lovely state of Tennessee right now for Bonnaroo, with such great performing artists such as Jack Johnson, Kanye West, Death Cab for Cutie, Stephen Marley, Talib Kweli and others. If you’re currently in the area, check it out! There'll be some knock out performances, for sure!

And for those of you currently missing out on Bonnaroo, or just can’t make it to the south for ACL, Lollapalooza is one of the most magnificent events of them all. At the famous Grant Park along Lake Michigan with the spectacular city skyline surrounding, bands truly light up the stage. Radiohead headlines, with other performances by Wilco, Bloc Party, Lupe Fiasco and, of course, Kanye West is native Ch’town. August 1-3 just might be the best weekend ever!
