back to school blues

One of the things I can remember most vividly from my childhood is the feeling I would get around the end of August. Where I live school starts at the beginning of September and as a child I was always ready and raring to go.

I loved buying new clothes and fresh clean notebooks and (if you can believe it) I even loved going to school every day. By late August the summer days started to feel long and kind of boring and I was excited to have things to learn and people to meet.

The way I feel now, though, is a different story. Don’t get me wrong; I like Princeton (my university). It’s just a lot of times I find college absolutely exhausting. There’s always so much going on with my classes, assignments, friends and activities that sometimes I can’t wait to get to my dorm room and finally go to sleep.

This summer I’ve really had a great time interning here at CG! and while I worked a lot during the week I had weekends to kick back, see my high school friends and relax with my family. It was a good balance that I’m sure I’m going to miss once I’m running around campus again.
