cupcakes for a cause!

Cupcakes for a Cause

If you're anything like me, you enjoy a good cupcake. I have my favorite cupcake spots in the city, and I visit them all the time. (I'm embarrassed to tell you how often!)

But if there's one thing I like more than buying cupcakes, it's baking them myself. That's why I was so excited to meet with cupcake expert, Clare Crespo. Clare dropped by the office, and we created "hamburger" cupcakes, like the one in the picture. If you serve them with real potato chips on the side, they look even more like actual burgers!

Clare also told me about a project Duncan Hines is doing to promote Cupcakes for a Cause. Cupcakes for a Cause raises money for CancerCare for Kids, an organization that gives kids who have cancer, or who have a family member who has cancer, free counseling to help them cope.

Here's how the cupcakes factor in: Bakeries and bake sales (held by people like you!) happen all across the country to collect money for this cause. And, this year, Duncan Hines is handing out awards for people who raise money for Cupcakes for a Cause and enter the Duncan Hines National Bake Sale Contest.

If you want to get in on the action, click here for all of the info. The deadline is Nov. 1.

Happy baking,
Jessica, assistant editor
