goal for it!

We all set goals, right? Whether it's trying to save enough money to buy that fab Coach bag, studying extra hard to make the honor roll, or trying to be a little sweeter to your younger sister, we're all striving to improve ourselves in some way or another. Goals are healthy, positive, and fun to go after. But sometimes they can be a little scary, too. For example, my big goal right now is to complete an Olympic Distance Triathlon this July. That's a one mile swim, a 25 mile bike, and a 6.2 mile run—all in a row! And not only do I want to complete it, I want to feel good doing it (I've done one other race like this before, and to say it was a disaster would be a major understatement!). So, yeah, I'm psyched to challenge myself this way, but I'm a little scared, too. I have to train really hard. I have to get up super early to swim, run, or bike, meaning bye bye to staying up late watching American Idol and Sex and the City reruns on DVR. And I'm definitely going to have to swap my daily dose of Doritos and Oreos for healthier, energy-packed snacks like almonds and fruit. Yikes!

This isn't going to be easy, and I know I'll need a lot of help. That's where you all come in: Let's share our goals and motivate each other! Let me know your goal and how you're trying to reach it, and I'll keep you posted on my progress. We can trade advice, tips, and just words of encouragement as we go after our goals.
