To say that I'm obsessed with shoes is an understatement.

Last week I went to see the play "SubUrbia" based on the movie that came out ten (!?I feel old) years ago. It's all about kids hanging out in front of a 7-Eleven doing all sorts of inappropriate and sometimes illegal things. I remembered seeing the movie when I was younger and thinking I was so cool to have discovered an indie movie that really "spoke" to me and my generation (sha! right!).
The play has been updated to include cell phones and iPods. But this time around I saw it with my parents. For whatever reason my mom was really into checking it outâshe's always interested in seeing what kids are into these days. But my parents are fairly conservative and sitting next to them during a play where every other word is an F-bomb and one of the main characters strips down butt-naked (I mean butt-naked!) was extremely uncomfortable for me.
Even though we're all adults, I will forever feel like a baby with them. I want them to still think that I don't know what sex or drugs or alcohol are. Or was it that I wanted to protect them from seeing such outrageous teenage behavior? All I know is that it was awkward with a capital A.
Have you ever had a, "OMG! I can't believe I'm watching this with my parents!" moment? What was it?

P.S. In case you were wondering (which you weren't) Kieran CulkinâMacaulay's brotherâstarred in the play and I've developed a stalker-like crush on him. I hope he reads CG!
