wedding drama, part 2

Hi CGs! Last week, I wrote about my friend Maya, who's fiance (let's call him David) flew into a jealous rage on the night of her all-girls Bachelorette's Party. Well, guess what? On the night of his bachelor party, he bangs on her door at like 6 in the morning (he had been partying all night) and accuses her of sleeping with FOUR of our friends (which is simply ridiculous!). He's really starting to scare me. I've never known him to behave like this in the five years I've known them. I think he has a drinking problem, which makes the matter worse.

Anyway, David has promised to get help and Maya is a very forgiving girl. So, it looks like the wedding is still on. All of our mutual friends have mixed feelings about the marriage, but no one wants to step in and literally stop a wedding. This is not a movie, it's real life, involving consenting adults. I feel like all we can do is advise Maya to follow her heart. And to ask herself if she's ready for what looks like a rocky road. They've been dating for years but these flaws are only revealing themselves now. Does she just throw it all away? (I would, but she's not willing to do that.) I know there will be a cloud over the wedding (and my heart breaks for Maya). But I have to keep reminding myself that marriage is about "good times and bad times, sickness and health, for better or worse." What do you think, CG?
