Is Paris Hilton the New Angelina?

As you probably all know by now, Paris Hilton told Barbara Walters in a jailhouse phone call that she wants to clean up her act. It's a quite an act to clean up. Most of America thinks she's: A) a spoiled brat, B) a dumb blonde, C) an attention whore, D) a whore. Or all of the above. But how she's saying that God has given her a new change. "I know now that I can make a difference, that I have the power to do that. I have been thinking that I want to do different things when I am out of here." Okay, let the image makeover begin!

When Paris gets out of jail in two weeks, I bet she'll be promoting all kinds of charitable causes. A lot of other celebs have remade their negative images (like Angelina Jolie and her UN aid work). I really hope Paris is sincere. Maybe being thrown in jail has taught her humility and gave her some time to think about the sad state of her life. She was definitely hitting a low point. (Remember how she was publically humiliated at the MTV Movie Awards? Ouch!) I don't expect her to become Mother Teresa, but it would be SO nice to see her doing something SELFLESS for a change. Like helping out at a soup kitchen or donating some of her inheritance to the poor. She's really into animals, so maybe she'll do some animal rights activism. There's no shortage of good causes that her money and fame would benefit.
