a rad red!

Watching the Oscars a couple of weeks ago, I noticed that tons of celebs (Anne Hathaway, Kirsten Dunst, Gwyneth Paltrow, Nicole Kidman, Maggie Gyllenhaal) were wearing red lipstick and it kind of got me inspired. Don't get me wrong, I've given red lips a chance in the past, but I was never able to find the perfect red for me. Some were too orange, some turned bright pink, some were too dark. I got so frustrated that I gave up and went back to my booooring berry balm. But then I started to notice that so many celebs were able to pull it off so beautifully (hello, Scarlett J.), I knew there HAD to be a red out there for me. So, I went to Sephora and devoted an entire hour to finding a really pretty, classic, true red lipstick that wasn't too matte (matte lipstick reminds me of my grandma!) and wasn’t too glossy. After searching and testing, I finally found my match! Drumroll please....Vincent Longo Lipstain Lipstick in Cherry. The consistency, coverage, and color were just what I was looking for. And, even when it wears off, it leaves behind a strawberry-colored tint that looks really pretty and natural. At $23, it's not really a bargain buy, but it's so worth every penny.

Since I'm a beauty junkie, I know that when I'm done with this lipstick, I might want to try a totally different one. Do you girls have a favorite red out there? Spill!
