Okay, I admit it. I hate rollercoasters. I've never understood why people love to ride them over and over--despite the long lines and stomach-churning loops, the ear-splitting screams and life-passing-before-your-eyes moment before you lose consciousness. Um, let's just say I'm no daredevil. I know that 99.9 percent of the time, amusement park rides are perfectly safe. But every once in a while, you hear about some freak accident. Like Fabio (the male model) getting hit in the face by a flying bird. Or the horrible incident at Six Flags' Kentucky Kingdom in Louisville last week, where a broken cable sheared off the feet of a 13-year-old girl! Boy, howdy! Now that settled the matter for me. There is no way on God's green earth you're going to find me on anything more than a merry-go-'round. No thrill is worth that kind of risk, no matter how small. But that's just me.
