This is my first season watching "American Idol" and the reason I'm hooked is Sanjaya Malakar, the Indian American kid with the big hair, cheesy smile and the so-so voice. He is riveting! From the adventurous way he dresses to the songs he chooses (for example, singing No Doubt's "Bathwater" while sporting a faux-hawk). The kid has no fear or shame or taste, depending on your point of view. I like the fact that you never know what kind of fashion statement he's going to make from week to week. Tuesday's theme is Latin Music (with guest mentor Jennifer Lopez!) so I imagine he'll be rocking a ruffled red blouse and tight matador pants. He’s so controversial and I haven’t actually cast a vote for him, but enough viewers clearly have. What do you think? Sanjaya, love him or hate him?xoxo, mai (research editor)
