The moment I got to the Hudson Hotel in New York City in the wee hours of 2007, it was obvious this was the place to be. First clue? Perez Hilton was standing right outside the door waiting to get in. (Overheard him telling some people he got more airtime than he expected on MTV!)

The bash was hosted by Christina Aguilera who looked simply gorgeous with every single one of her platinum blonde curls in place. Her husband Jordan Bratman could not have been sweeter, chatting it up with friends and then heading over to his bride for quick hugs and kisses from time to time. Awww! Well into the night, Christina was still full of energy and even got up and started dancing in the middle of her group of friends.

The room was small with an old classic library feel to it and had a pool table in the middle. Maybe not exactly how you'd imagine a big celeb party to be, but they were everywhere—I spotted Chamillionaire, Matt White and the guys from Saturday Night Live.

The vibe in the room totally changed when Matt made sure his buddy John Mayer got into the party. John (who looks much taller in person!) had a petite blonde girl with him. Just as I was about to turn to my friend and say, "Wow, that looks like Jessica Simpson," I realized— it was Jessica Simpson! Whoa!

She sat on the couch and chatted with her girlfriend while John stood up and talked to Perez. Later, John sat down and the two looked like they were enjoying ringing in 2007 together!

Meanwhile, her ex Nick Lachey, was the surprise guest over at the MTV Goes Gold Bash and counted down to midnight with Vanessa Minillo!
