ThermaClear ThermaClear, The Ultimate Zit Zapper

Zit-zapping is about to go to a whole new level. I recently met with the founder of ThermaClear, a new device that promises to make your pimples heal faster. Basically, it works like this: the bacteria that cause acne can only live in a certain temperature zone, so this device emits a burst of heat that is hotter than the acne bacteria can stand so (but not hot enough to hurt you or even make your skin red). In theory, that heat kills the bacteria and your pimple heals quicker. Makes sense right? Well, I've been using it for about 3 weeks on any pimples that pop up and I have to say they are definitely healing more quickly. Plus it only takes, like, 2 seconds to charge, zap, and turn off the thing.

There are only two things that aren't awesome: It costs $150... although, I don't think that's such a big amount to pay since it really works and I'll be able to use it every day for years. And the other issue? The zap. I didn't think it was that bad, just sort of like a quick prick. But, apparently I have a very high tolerance for pain. Because when I tested the ThermaClear on our beauty intern, Arianna, she shrieked. And Emily, the other beauty editor, tried it and said it was definitely not pleasant (well, she actually said something more profane that I can't write here). But, I think they're overreacting. And I still like my ThermaClear and totally recommend it. So, tell me... Do you do anything slightly uncomfortable or painful in the name of beauty?
