Because my stylish little sister (and BFF!), Genevieve, adores the same quirky patterned dresses and jewel-toned pumps I do, our closets overflow onto our bedroom floors in waves of beading and bows. Although our mother insists that we have "more than enough," summer is here and what girl isn't in need of a new dress to celebrate the season?

Every Thursday afternoon, Genevieve and I drive to the Salvation Army, our favorite shopping destination, to bond and add to our wardrobe at the same time! We go on Thursdays, because our student I.D.'s grant us 50 percent off on everything in the store! (The Salvation Army near you has this cool discount, too!

Endless racks of clothing line the aisles with pieces for every look imaginable-from electric sequined '80s prom gowns to this season's layer-ready tank top. Because nothing costs us over $10, we stock up on vintage clutch bags and chunky, colorful belts in the accessories department and promise to share each piece. Among our best finds are a Nicole Miller bubble dress (only $3!), a gold Diane von Furstenburg silk top ($2.50!), and a black Cynthia Rowley baby doll dress ($1! Yes, I'm serious!)

So see, you don't need big bucks to look fabulous this summer! You can bring in the sunshine with chic new attire that none of your friends can find at the mall.
