DJ AM Found Dead

This summer was a devastating one for the music world. First, the passing of the legendary Michael Jackson and now, the death of DJ AM leaves us in complete and total shock.

DJ AM, also known as Adam Goldstein, narrowly escaped death once last year in a plane crash that left all on board dead except for him and Blink-182 member Travis Barker. This time, he wasn't so lucky. Police found AM dead in his bed this past Friday after friends who had been calling and stopping by his New York City apartment couldn't reach him.

AM was supposed to DJ a gig Friday night in Las Vegas, and when he wasn't answering his phone and missed his flight, friends grew worried. Police stopped by the apartment in SoHo around 5:20 p.m. and found him dead, with drug paraphernalia nearby.

AM has a history of drug problems but had allegedly been sober for over 11 years and was even in the process of promoting his upcoming reality show with MTV called Gone Too Far, which tried to get drug users to quit. Medical examiners will determine in the upcoming weeks what caused his sudden death, but many speculate it was an accidental overdose.

MTV hasn't decided whether to air AM's show. Do you think it should be aired?
