Glee Coming to NYC for a Carol-oke Contest

November 20, 2009 at 11:19AM by Colleen Moody |

Mark Salling from Glee

If you love Glee as much as we do, you'll want to get to New York City on Dec. 3, so you can hang out with Mark Salling, Cory Monteith, and Amber Riley from the cast.

The cast will be in NYC's Bryant Park to get everyone in the holiday spirit with Marshalls and T.J. Maxx's "Carol-oke" contest! These three will be teaching you how to get involved in the contest, which will help raise money for the Toys for Tots program this holiday season.

If you can't make it to NYC, you can still get involved! All you have to do is go to Marshalls and T.J. Maxx's holiday YouTube channel, www.youtube.com/jointhecarolers, watch one of the two unique carols, then upload a video of you singing one of them! For each video $1 will be donated toward Toys for Tots, to purchase gifts for a child in need. If that's not enough incentive, by uploading a video you are also eligible to win a $5,000 shopping spree. Tis the season to do something charitable!

How do you help others in need during the holidays?

xoxo,

Colleen

When the boys of NeedToBreathe sat down to talk to us about growing up in Possum Kingdom (yes, it does exist) we A.) immediately had to locate it on a map (it's in South Carolina) and B.) were impressed that their third studio album The Outsiders has already peaked at #20 on the Billboard 200 after just being released this past August. Miley Cyrus Voted Worst Celebrity Influence

October 30, 2009 at 10:13AM by Colleen Moody |

Miley Cyrus performing on stage at KIIS-FM Wango Tango

Miley Cyrus took away another award this year, but she may not want it. According to a recent AOL survey, 42 percent of teens between ages 9 to 15 voted her the worst celebrity influence of 2009. Kanye and Britney followed behind in the top three spots.

Yet at the same time, the survey showed lots of love for Miley! The same poll put her in fourth for favorite female artist. So do we love her or hate her? True, she did pole dance at the Teen Choice Awards, in addition to her relationship with Justin Gaston, who was just a tad bit older than her, but she also brings us hits like "Party in the USA!" Sigh...we are torn when it comes to Miley.

What do you think about Miley? She did deserve to get the award for worst celebrity influence?

Kardashian Family Drama

October 27, 2009 at 12:14PM by Colleen Moody |

The Kardashians

Whoever was responsible for naming the Kardashian's reality show Keeping Up with the Kardashians should be given a prize, because it is definitely hard to keep up with this family!

With the news of Kourtney's pregnancy, Khloe's maybe almost drug scare on Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami and now her recent quickie marriage to Lamar Odom, we start to wonder, do you even feel like keeping up with the Kardashians anymore?

Check out below what CosmoGirl readers had to say:

Lacy from Mason City, IA: "Who cares if Kourtney is pregnant? The drug scare with Khloe was probably just a publicity stunt. I am sick of reality shows."

Brittany from Pasadena, MD: "I think reality TV is so overdone. I don't even watch it anymore."

Casslina from New York, NY: "Ugh! Can they be any more dramatic? I mean come on ladies don't you think you have enough attention? It's getting ridiculous! Drugs, sex, and being fake! You're just a bunch of socialites trying to make history!"

Abbey from Castle Rock, CO: "Keeping up with the Kardashians used to be my favorite show. A little drama here and there kept things interesting, but now all the drama is getting really annoying. It is getting really old and now I don't watch anything about them. They have become a little trashy too. All this sex and stuff that they are showing on there TV is putting images into people minds which really shouldn't be happening. Whatever happened to modest TV? I don't know, but i hope it comes back soon."

Do you agree? Post your comments below!
