Fashion Week - Patricia Field

If you don't know the name Patricia Field, I promise you that you know her work: She's the legendary stylist for Sex and the City, Devil Wears Prada, and now Ugly Betty. I'm super excited to interview her tomorrow (blog post to come!), but in the meantime, I've gotta tell you about her fashion show on Saturday night. It was at the Edison Ballroom near Times Square and we got a sneak peek at her new "destination style" collection for the Home Shopping Network (HSN).

Yep, you heard right - the Home Shopping Network! Finally, Fashion Week clothes we can all afford and that we can buy from anywhere, whether we live in the biggest city or the tiniest town. There are already four dresses I'm lusting after, and not to mention the jewelry...see for yourself here. The dress that got the most cheers was the one-shoulder red dress with belt ($129.90), which I shot in the video below with my Flip camera. There's also a black sheath dress that's completely inspired by Carrie's in the Sex and the City movie, with a giant flower resting on the right shoulder and glitzy leaves extending down the side.

Patricia's show was the most entertaining I've seen so far. In other shows, the models essentially look the same -- skinny, smoky eyes, pulled-back hair. Here, each played a different character, from sexy secretary, to race-car driver, to prom queen. All of them stayed on stage till the end, when Patricia and he co-designer David Dalrymple took a bow. And guess who was clapping proudly in the front row? The cast members of Ugly Betty! Vanessa Williams, Ana Ortiz, Becki Newton, and Judith Light all came out to support their superstar stylist.
