Think fairy godmothers only exist in Cinderella? Think again! Through DonateMyDress.org, we all get a magic wand to make another girl's prom dreams come true.
In this year's economy, there are more girls than ever who are struggling to afford the costs of prom. If you have a dress that you'll never wear again, donate it to a dress drive in your area, which you can find in the DonateMyDress.org directory.
We know firsthand how good it feels to distribute these dresses! This morning, ABC News reporter Lauren Glassberg helped us surprise 10 girls from New Dorp High School in Long Island, New York, with prom dresses from our month-long dress drive at Saks Fifth Avenue stores. (Remember when Ashley Greene came to the New York City store to collect these dresses from her fans?)
JCPenney also donated dresses from their 2009 prom collection. So look closely at this picture of us — you might recognize your prom dress!
If you're inspired to start up your own dress drive at school, check out MyPromStyle.com's tips here. It's easy!
Have you donated a dress yet this year?
