Geren Ford Kicks Off Spring 2009 Fashion Week in New York

Well that’s it, it’s official…I’m addicted to Fashion Week here in New York City, and it’s only just begun! Last night I got the amazing opportunity to attend one of the very first shows of the season at the ultra-trendy Bowery Hotel where Geren Ford showcased her latest looks for Spring 2009.

The free champagne was flowing, the music was blasting, but we all were there for one reason…the kick-ass clothes! The only way to describe Ford’s newest line is uber-cool and colorful; the perfect clothes for the breezy weather of Spring. In fact, breezy is the perfect adjective to describe the entire collection. All the pieces seemed to flow with an air of cool and hipness about them.

What I found most appealing about the collection was the easy transitional style of the pieces. These are the kind of outfits a girl could wear on the runway or walking down 46th street and feel just as confident; perfect clothes for the CosmoGirl in all you ladies out there.

Another nice touch were the colorful wicker-inspired clutches that all the models rocked through the show. Very hot! I can definitely see those becoming hugely popular among the New York fashionistas that flocked to the unveiling of Ford’s newest line.

All in all, the show was awesome! Ford managed to bring the bohemian hipness of L.A. to New York in only the most sophisticated way.
