one step to wavy hair!

Naturally, our beauty editors here at CosmoGIRL! are gorgeous. I’m used to seeing the senior beauty editor with shiny straight hair, so when she came in one day last week with locks that had the perfect beach waves look, I was envious.

She handed me a bottle of Sally Hershberger Style Primer for Wavy Hair and explained that she used the primer on her wet hair and then slept on it. It was hard to believe that she got this look with just one product.

That night, I raked the product through my towel-dried hair and went to sleep. The primer didn’t leave my hair hard and crunchy like gels, and it didn’t make my hands sticky like mousse. When I woke up the next morning, my hair fell in frizz-free waves all around my shoulders. I loved the added volume and movement.

I still have some work to do in mastering the application process, but so far it’s been the easiest way to make waves in my already slightly wavy hair.

An added bonus: my boyfriend loves this product on me! It has a pretty neutral smell, leaves my hair soft so it doesn’t scratch his face, and he can run his fingers through it at the same time.

The Sally Hershberger Style Primers ($12.50, Walgreens) come in three formulas. I used the Style Primer for Wavy Hair, which promises to enhance waves and keeps frizz at bay. The two for straight hair add flexibility, control, or volume.
