hanson's back

I am proud to say that the song "MMMBop" is my guilty pleasure. Just this morning, I was rocking out to Hanson on my iPod in the subway. There is something about their music that is honest and catchy.

The band released their fourth album, The Walk, on July 24 and had a few shows in New York City to celebrate its release. My friend Zac and I went to their show at Webster Hall. (Yes, I have now officially been to four Hanson shows.)

The guys rocked out with a 90-minute set, featuring a mix of all their CDs. And did I mention the guys looked really good? Seeing them live makes me swoon! There is something about musicians that write their own music and play their own instruments that is so appealing. Plus, I love that they perform at smaller, intimate venues because it makes the concert more personal.

When I see Hanson live, I realize how much they love their fans, too. Zac even climbed a rope on the side of the stage to get to the fans in the upper level of the venue! These boys’ shows never leave me disappointed.

If you haven’t picked up their new CD, I would definitely recommend it! The U.S. version has three extra exclusive songs. (I am obsessed with "I’ve Been Down.") You can listen to (most) of the album on their Web site media player—if you want to listen before you buy.
