This weekend I may have found my new favorite thing to do: painting! Ive always enjoyed artistic things, but supplies are expensive so Ive limited my masterpieces to doodles during class lectures.
So when a friend of mine found an art supply store near Chinatown that sells paints and canvases (and everything else you can imagine) for an amazing price, I thought, Why not? My roommate and I headed over to Pearl Paint and were overwhelmed by the selection. Of course, it didnt help that we didnt know what we were doing. When we finally chose brushes, paints and canvases, we rushed home to try them out.
We headed out to a great spot that overlooks the water and the New York skyline and just started painting. People would walk by and stop to look at our art-in-progress. It almost felt like we were real artists with our work on display! And to make things even better, mine actually turned out pretty good.
Now I cant wait to paint again. Ive already got all these ideas floating around in my head. I cant believe I almost missed out on painting because of money! What other hobbies am I missing out on?
What are your favorite hobbies? Can you give me tips for trying them without spending a lot of money? Im up for anything!
Later.

p.s. Look online to see if theres a Pearl Paint near you, or at least order your supplies, so you can start painting, too!
