music and lyrics

On a typical day on my way to work, I select “shuffle songs” on my iPod to see what comes up. Normally, I hit next about a dozen times until I find a song I’m in the mood to hear, but this morning, every song that came up seemed perfect. That got me thinking — was it because of the beat or because the lyrics seemed to make sense for what was happening in my life right now?
