Miley Cyrus Breaks Up with Twitter

Twitter has got the whole world expressing themselves in 140 characters or less, especially when it comes to celebrities! Celebs love telling fans what they are doing, where they are eating, and who they are seeing. It's becoming second nature to check Twitter as often as you would check your inbox.

Which is why it is surprising that one of the biggest celebrity tweeters has done the unthinkable and deleted her account! Miley Cyrus suddenly went missing from the tweet-o-sphere this weekend with no explanation, until now.

Miley wrote on her official site that her hiatus from Twitter is nothing against the fans, but instead a personal move. "I often complain to the ones closest to me that I don't seem to have much of a private life anymore and part of that is my fault," she wrote. "How can I whine about my life being to public if I am the one telling the world what I am doing? Some things in my life need to stay in my life only and not on some gossip site."

Miley also goes on to say it's not just Twitter she is taking a break from, it's the entire Internet. "I just think kids all over the world could maybe take a little vacation from cyberspace. My problem with the Internet is it makes negativity so available. It allows people to anonymously hurt others without any consequences. That is not the real world. Not only that, but if we spent more time enjoying what we are doing besides tweeting about it, we would enjoy our lives a whole lot more."
