New Year, New Vacation

So, it’s a brand-new year, and while I’m excited for 2008, I really don’t feel any different. I always convince myself that there will be a palpable change that makes each year feel somehow different from the last one, especially with all the new year’s resolutions I make, but this year I just don’t feel it.

I think the real trouble is that I haven’t done anything different this winter break — I stayed in New York with my parents, who live only about an hour away from my dorm, and, unlike past years, we didn’t go away anywhere. I have friends who were lucky enough to go away to places like Puerto Rico, Florida, and even Israel, but I just stayed at home. Now, with only about two weeks left before I have to go back to school (and with some people back at school already), I’m really starting to wish for a vacation to some exotic destination, just for a quick getaway so I can say I got out of the city at least a little bit. Plus, then I can start off the new year with a brand-new experience!

So tell me, CG!s, do you have any recommendations for fun places to travel? Did any of you take a vacation for the holidays? I want to hear all about your trips!
