Im starting to realize that being in college occasionally means I have to be in three places at once. Not only do I have to make sure that I finish all of my work on time (because feeling lost in a class because you havent done the reading for isnt any fun) but trying to have a social life and supporting all of my friends in their different activities is starting to take up a lot of my time too.
One thing I learned in college that I wish I knew better in high school is how to stay organized. I know it sounds like a cliché, but when I started my freshman year, I didnt know how to stay on top of my work, and I spent a lot of sleepless nights trying to write papers that I should have finished much earlier. By sophomore year, I had gotten much better, and now Im less stressed about all of the work I have to do because I know I have it under control.
Whats even better about my new organization skills is that I dont have to worry about my social life anymore, because I know how to balance the two. Now I know when I have to finish my work by, so I can go see a movie or go to this friends birthday or that friends dance performance. In high school, I was under a lot of stress because of all my extracurricular activities and all my homework. I wish I had known how to stay organized then!
So tell me, how do you stay organized?
