day on the set of abc's one life to live

It's a dream come true: spend a day as an extra on the set of my favorite day-time soap, One Life to Live. While trying to look glamorous by 9am for the shoot was difficult, getting to chat with super-sweet Kristen Alderson (Starr Manning) made the whole thing worth it. Totally down-to-earth, Kristen joked about never leaving home without her eyeliner and mascara, and talked about how much she loves the new Britney Spears and Hilary Duff albums (Kristen also said there will be some great twists and turns in store for Starr and Cole, her boyfriend, during the coming season, so make sure to tune in!)

After everyone had dressed and finished their hair and make-up, it was time to head upstairs with the other actors for the party scene that would be taped. Being on the set was incredible! Everyone appeared to be running around in chaos until suddenly, one of the stage managers yelled “Quiet!” and then “Action!” Like clockwork, the entire crew came together as cameras started rolling. Though several shots were being taped, the main event was a special musical guest performing for Starr's “Sweet Sixteen” birthday party: Mary J. Blige.

From her non-stop energy and heavenly voice to her sophisticated black leather zip-up shirt and dark skinny jeans, Mary J. Blige gave an amazing performance! Plus, she was so close (like, less than 20 feet)! She performed her newest single, “Just Fine,” so this is definitely a show you don't want to miss. Make sure to catch One Life to Live on February 15th and 18th for Mary J. Blige and all the drama that's bound to unfold during Starr's “Sweet Sixteen.”
