that's right: emily's against rumor spreading!

Recently a girl I kind of know spread a rumor about me that was completely untrue. It doesn't matter what it was that she said (I know I'm torturing you by not telling you, sorry!), but the fact that she said anything at all really hurt my feelings and more than that, it made me angry.

I was upset because it reminded me of when I was in high-school and a girl did that to me. I thought we had all "grown out" of that, but I guess insecurities can make people do crazy things, even when they're adults.

Back to the story, I bumped into her a few weeks after I had told everyone that the rumor was untrue and my stomach turned. I knew that I had to confront her or I would feel worse for not letting her know what she did was wrong. So you know what? I walked over to her and very diplomatically told her what she did was NOT cool. At first I felt great about sticking up for myself, but then I started to worry that saying something to her made me just as bad a person.

So my question to you guys is, does it? Or do you think I did the right thing by confronting her? For the record, she apologized, but it didn't feel sincere. Let me know if you guys have ever been in a sitch like that and if so, what you did!
