summer beauty first aid kit

The summer is at its peak and if you're like me, this means sticky blistering heat. Interning in NYC it's hard to escape the humidity and the everything that comes with it so I decided to start carrying a personal first aid kit to stay comfortable in whatever heat the summer brings you.

Now, I don't know about you, but my hands always get extra clammy in the summer. The last thing I need is a pimple on my face from my oily fingers. Keeping hand sanitizer with me makes me feel clean. Whether I am getting off the subway or on my way home from shopping, a quick wipe down is an instant cleanser. Many bath and body stores carry hand sanitizer with floral or fruity smells so you can feel clean and smell clean too!

The sun can damage even the darkest skin tones. Although it's difficult to carry a full bottle of sunscreen in your bag, it's always good to keep your lips protected with a lip balm containing SPF. I like to use simple chapstick, it's small, cheep, and still gives a subtle glow.

Sandals always tend to give me the worst blisters. Walking around the city with uncomfortable shoes has to be the worst thing ever! I carry a pack of Band-Aids along in my first aid kit in case of an emergency.

Lastly, after a weekend at the beach my skin always feels dry. By keeping a mini tube of cream I'm definitely going to avoid peeling and itching.

Try putting together a mini first aid kit of your own and add in any other beauty products you might need. Keep it together in a small make-up case so it fits right in your purse and I promise it will make the scorching summer much more bearable.
