take it to the runway

I'm no stranger to the runway. When my friends and I want to have fun, we find the best hallway to sashay down accompanied by upbeat catwalk music. We laugh, we dance, and even provide our own commentary! Not to brag, but I'm kind of an expert!

Here are my tips on how to give your best strut!

Be comfortable

Stand like a model

Walk in a line

Take long strides

It shouldn't take more than 30 seconds to get to the end of the runway whatever the length. But make sure you don't look as if you're stepping over a small child.


Look past the runway

Keep your head straight, but push your chin forward. The silhoutte will look amazing! Also, don't look directly at the end of the runway. Pretend there is a really cute guy 50 feet past the end of the edge then keep your focus on that image.


Represent the clothes you're in

You wouldn't smile if you felt sad, would you? If the clothes you're in are fun and flirty, think of the last time you felt that emotion and let the audience see it on your face. The music is going, the lights are pointed on you, and you're wearing a hot outfit—your face should also capture the mood.


Create your own signature

For each model there is a completely unique walk thrown in with all the basic tips. Whether you walk to the beat or wink at the crowd, make the walk your own!


Now you're ready to work it CG! As my friends say, "Take it to the runway!"
