Paris Fashion Week: Sophia Kokosalaki

I love glamorous dresses. I love thumbing through them on racks and feeling their rich textures. I love trying them on in stores and twirling in them before dressing room mirrors. I love how the right dress can take you out of your mundane life and transform you into Sophia Loren or Elizabeth Taylor or any of the other sirens of classic cinema.

So imagine my utter glee at the Sophia Kokosalaki show on Tuesday when I saw gorgeous dress after gorgeous dress parade down the runway. The colors! The fabrics! The textures! A sexy black chiffon, followed by a flowing white jersey. Neon orange followed by cool aqua. A tight little cocktail number followed by a floor-grazing ball gown adorned with feathers. It was enough to make anyone (okay, or maybe just me) give little shrieks of glee at the sheer beauty of it all.

While there were a handful of structured pant and skirt ensembles, I left the show with visions of Kokosalaki's undoubtedly feminine dresses dancing in my head. I may have to head to a boutique soon to do a little dressing room twirling!
