Get Lauren Conrad's Look

I was really happy when I saw Lauren Conrad on the cover of your March issue. My mom doesn't like Laguna Beach or The Hills (call her crazy; I watch it anyway!), so I had her read the article and now she has different thoughts about Lauren. Thanks again for choosing her for your cover! —Grace, 18, Springfield, IL

Lauren Conrad is a great role model. Ever since watching The Hills, she has inspired me to go into fashion design, which is my passion! —Shareen, 20, Glendale, AZ

The cover of the March issue with Lauren Conrad was a breath of fresh air. Lauren is a great role model with a good head on her shoulders. Even though she's on T.V., she doesn't want to give up her dreams in fashion to become an actress. I also like how she doesn't depend on her show to get her where she needs to be, but instead uses it as a stepping stone to introduce herself to people. —Candace, 16, Ladera Ranch, CA

Your March issue was perfect. I go to an arts school and I want to major in fashion design in college, and this issue had me kissing the pages! I was so happy to see all the different designs, time eras, famous designers and real-looking teenage girls as your models. —Irina, 17, Atlanta, GA

I was so upset after reading "I was Attacked By A Wolf!" It must have been hard for Emily to deal with something so terrifying. My cat Buddy had scratched my face once and I ended up having four scratch marks on the one side of my face. I'd never want to be attacked by a wild animal! I feel bad for Emily and I hope she's okay now. —Holly, 16, Gettysburg, PA

At first, I was excited to see a story on the Panhellenic sorority rush, but upon reading it I was let down. Though Lindsay and Katelyn each have a right to their opinions, they aren't representative of how chapters are at every school across the nation. I wish you stressed that each chapter is different from school to school. Also, the article focused on the rushing process, which is the most anxiety-ridden time, and not on actually being in a sorority. In addition, leadership opportunities, scholastic achievement, and lifetime networking opportunities weren't mentioned. Although I applaud the article on trying to tell the truth about sorority life, it fell short of its mission and perpetuated already rampant stereotypes. —Katie, 20, Irvine, CA

I'm thrilled with the article on sororities in your March issue! As a proud sorority member, I'm glad that you wrote about what formal recruitment is really like, but I felt that you contributed to the stereotypes of sororities. Each national sorority has membership standards such as leadership, academics, and character. I also felt that you portrayed my sorority, Alpha Chi Omega, badly. We give thousands of dollars to philanthropic causes each year and are leaders in our schools. I hope your article didn't discourage women from looking into Alpha Chi Omega over such a petty incident. —Lindsey, 22, Sacramento, CA
