Carrie Bradshaw certainly had her fair share of love drama on Sex and the City, but it always seemed that Sarah Jessica Parker was pretty stable in her real life. Well, that is until the recent rumors that her husband Matthew Broderick was having an affair with a 25-year-old. Anyway it seemed to blow over for awhile, but now Celebitchy is reporting that SJP has had enough and is packing her stuff moving out and taking their 6-year-old son James with her. So sad, they seemed like a solid couple, but they certainly lasted longer than most celebrity marriages.
And now for some happier gossip, according to JustJared John Mayer and Jennifer Aniston are really in love, so much so that he penned her a tune for Christmas that made her burst into tears of joy. Supposedly the lyrics are Lucky in love, lucky in love/ Didnt forget me when I asked you to leave me/ Didnt forget me/ Now youre alongside me/ Youve brought luck to love/ Ive been hit by a truck in love. What do you think? Would you cry if someone wrote that for you? What's the sweetest thing a guy has ever done for you?
Xoxo,
Megan
It's finally the new year, which means one thing resolution time! For the past several years, my new year's resolutions have been variations of the same personal goals: stop biting my nails, lose weight and get my life in order. Each year, I am mildly successful in keeping my resolutions in January, falter a little in February and abandon them completely in March.
So this year, I am trying something a little different. I am composed a list of tangible goals, as opposed to a vague wish list. And most importantly, I made resolutions with others in mind, instead of myself.
Here are some of my goals for this new year:
1.Keep in touch. I am notoriously bad at keeping in touch, especially when I travel. But in the past year, I have really come to appreciate my close friends, and I want to make sure they know that. In the past, I've stuck to superficial methods of keeping in touch short "I miss you" e-mails, Facebook wall posts but this year I'm going to make an effort to write one long e-mail or make one personal phone call per week.
2.Smile and say hi. You know when you see someone that you haven't seen in a while, and you're not sure whether that person remembers you or not? You go back and forth about whether to make eye contact and say hi, and in the end you decide to save yourself the embarrassment of an unreturned wave and play the ignorance card. Since being home, I feel like this is the story of my life, and I hate it! I am going to save the time and energy and just start smiling and greeting everyone. I'll probably come off like a fool, but it's better than looking like a snob!
3.Launch a community service project. Guam's public school system is a red-hot mess. Corruption, violence, book shortages you name it, and there has been a related newspaper headline in the past year. As a result, many students, especially at the high school level, don't get the education or support they deserve. I want to do my part to help, so I'm working to organize a workshop that would provide free college counseling and SAT tutoring to local students. My biggest resolution is making sure the program happens!
Those are mine what are yours? Have you kept them so far?
Until next time,
Jess

Do you ever find yourself snacking even though youre not hungry at all? We tell you how to break the habit.
We asked Marlene Schwartz, Ph.D., director of research and school programs for the Rudd Center for Food Policy and Obesity at Yale University, for the best tips to curb your "bored" snack cravings.
1. Recognize that you're doing it: One of the easiest ways to find out when youre eating out of boredom is to write down everything you eat and at what time for two to three days. You can do this in your daily planner, on a piece of paper, or in a journal. When you analyze your list, you might notice that you're eating a lot of random snacks right when you get home from school because youre wandering around the kitchen. If you can identify the times and the places that you eat without being hungry, you'll have something concrete to focus on.
2. Set rules: Tell yourself that you eat only when you're sitting down at the kitchen or dining room table. Don't eat in front of the TV, on your bed, or in front of the computer. Those are high-risk areas because you might not necessarily be hungry, but youre not going to be paying attention to what or how much youre eating if you start to snack.
3. Make a regular eating schedule: You want to have breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and it's okay to have a healthy snack or two if you have a long stretch between your meals. But dont stray from that schedule. Do you always need a dessert after dinner? Thats fine. But dont throw in another dessert two hours later when youre writing a paper at 1 a.m.
4. Keep your hands busy: It sounds obvious, but if youre doing something else with your hands, its pretty hard to eat at the same time. Polish your nails, try a new hobby like knitting, read a book, play video games anything to make it tough to eat at the same time.

Happy New Year everyone! I am finally back from my relaxing break and ready to get to the gossip. A lot happened while I was away, so here we go. Celebuzz tells us that Travis McCoy and Katy Perry have broken up. Just a few weeks after a flood of engagement rumors, the hipster couple ended their two-year relationship because they just couldn't stop fighting. Travis even took to his blog and posted these lyrics "We fight every night, now that's not kosher. I reminisce with bliss of when we was closer. And wake up to be greeted by an argument again, You act like you're ten."
Speaking of fighting: Is it trouble in paradise for Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson or does drama just follow Lindsay wherever she goes? According to Celebitchy the couple got into a huge fight at the New Year's party they hosted together at a Miami club and ended up having it out in a back alley. They continued to fight when they got back to their hotel, where it got so physical they ended up trashing the whole room, even breaking some mirrors. It didn't even end there they got into another fight on their way back to L.A. Lindsay was so inconsolable she was asked if she wanted to get off the plane before it took off. What do you think is going on with these two?
There have also been some rumors flying about a very odd couple, so unlikely, that I am really having a hard time believing it. And honestly I hope it's not true, for his sake. Hollywood Rag tells us that George Clooney has been spotted out in L.A. a few times with Paris Hilton, yes you heard me right, Paris Hilton. It's not just weird because of their 20-year age difference, it just seems like George Clooney could have any woman in the world, why would he go for Paris Hilton? Why do you think?
Xoxo and glad to be back!

Have you ever wondered what Jesus must've been like when he was a teenager? Maybe not, since there's a major gap in his life story in the Bible. But his teen years had to have helped shape him into the man that he became. Well now, renowned physician, philosopher and writer Deepak Chopra has penned a novel called Jesus: A Story of Enlightenment, which imagines what Jesus' teens and early twenties could have been like. We caught up with Dr. Chopra on his book tour recently to ask him a few q's...
Q: Your latest book focuses on Jesus as a very young man, before he was the Jesus we know. Why is it important for us to understand Jesus' teen years?
A: You have to understand the teen years of any leader to understand the mechanics of their leadership. There are certain things that dominantly stand out. People who become great leaders are those who take time to reflect every day on the big questions: Who am I? What is my purpose? Who are my heroes in history, mythology, and religion? What are my unique talents and how do I express them? These are the qualities of silent reflection that make a great leader, like Jesus.
Q: What can teen readers take away from this book?
A: I hope teenagers will be inspired by this story to maximize their potential. The teenage years are years of great chaos and confusion in your lives, but also a time of seeking a deeper meaning. You will see the confusion and the questioning that Jesus went throughjust like any other teenager, Jesus had to go through that, too. In the teen years, we often confuse self-image with self-esteem. Teenagers are very influenced by the image others have of them. All sorts of complexes come from this,
Q: Do you think today's teenagers get a bad rap?
A: What we do wrong with teenagers is we talk down to you instead of treating you as equals. Adults complain that you're not good listeners but really, adults are not listening to what you're trying to tell us. We're always trying to give you advice. We should treat you with lots of respect and dignity and groom you to be future leaders.
Q: You are known as a man of great faith. What can a teenager do if they have faith in a religion other than the one their parents brought them up in?
A: I would say that rather than looking for another religion, look for the values that are in every religion. The time is coming when we will go beyond narrow religious confines and embrace a spirituality that will include the best of all religions and transcend narrow boundaries. Remember this: Beliefs divide, values unite. When we go to the values that underlie so many religious beliefs, they unite us. So try not to worry what your parents think try to help them see that you do live by the values that they taught you.
Q: What's one thing every teenager can do starting today to help change the world?
A: Take the vow: On my Website right now you can take the vow of nonviolence in your thoughts, your speech, and your actions. Every time one person becomes peaceful in their own life, it changes the world. Imagine what would happen if everyone took this vow? I've been working in this field for many years and we make movies and create stories about peace, but unless we make the change ourselves, nothing is going to change. As Gandhi said, be the change you want to see in the world. Go to deepakchopra.com and sign up to take the vow today!

All right, rather than beat around the bush, I'm just going to come out and say it last month, I was dumped.
Dumped. It's such a harsh word, but it seems fitting. When you've been in a relationship for a year and a half and your boyfriend suddenly tells you that things aren't the same, and he wants to "take a break," it certainly feels like a weight of sadness and regret has been "dumped" upon your heart.
Over the past month, I've been somewhat in denial about the break-up. This is partially because of the "taking a break" status he and I agreed on. Too bad we didn't clarify exactly what that meant. To me, it meant spending winter break a part in order to give each other space, but knowing that when we returned to school in January, there would be a good chance of us getting back together. I was wrong. To him, it means we're broken up and maybe someday later in life, we'll get back together. Maybe.
And now, it's time for me to move on. I've been in relationships before, but I've never had such a hard time letting go.
For now, my plan is to focus on my New Year's resolutions (I've already had to amend one of them!) and spend time reconnecting with myself. Letting go is definitely going to be tough, but I know I won't get anywhere if I continue to dwell on what could have been.
How do you deal with a break-up?
I'm home for the holidays, home to aquamarine seas, mango trees and 90-degree weather. A white Christmas it is not, unless you count the white sand beaches I can see from my bedroom window. But it's the kind of Christmas I've always known.
I am from Guam, a hometown (home island?) that often provokes a quizzical raise of the eyebrow. "Guam?" people ask. "Where's that?" A few facts:
-Guam is a small tropical island located smack dab in the middle of the Pacific, about three-quarters of the way from Hawaii to the Philippines.
-The island's total land area is 212 square miles, just 32 miles long and between 4 and 8 miles wide.
-The indigenous people of the island are called Chamorro, which is also the name of the indigenous language.
-Officially, Guam is an organized unincorporated territory of the United States, along with American Samoa and the U.S. Virgin Islands. It has closer political ties to the U.S. than commonwealths like Puerto Rico and the Northern Mariana Islands.
-Yes, we speak English!
If this is all new information, don't worry most people have no idea that America still lays claim to tiny territories in the middle of the Pacific. It's really kind of sad, because Guamanians are some of the proudest Americans you'll ever meet. They fly U.S. flags in their yards and send thousands of their native sons to fight U.S. wars. But most of the country has no idea that Guam is even a part of the United States!
As a Chamorro girl and a writer, I feel that it's my duty to spread the word about Guam and its unique history and culture. I spent a significant chunk of college studying the island and its issues, so if you have any questions, ask away!
I hope you all are having a wonderful holiday season, wherever you are and whatever holiday you're celebrating. I'll be celebrating the Chamorro way!Until next time,
Jess

Now that Christmas is over, I'm ready to move on and focus my attention on the next holiday: New Year's.
I look at 2009 as a way to start fresh. Things started great in 2008, but started to fall apart this winter — so I'm looking to make this new year great from start to finish.
Much like everyone else on the planet, every year I make resolutions that I barely ever stick to. As I am getting older, however, I am realizing how important it is to have goals, and that a resolution is really just an early start on my yearly to-do list.
This year, my resolutions include several of the typical goals to improve my physical well-being, but also some to cater to my mental well-being as well.
- Exercise more frequently. I was so busy this semester that I forgot to go to the gym! Now I have to get back on track.
- Give up caffeinated products. This is going to be so difficult, wish me luck!
- Take more pictures. I've gotten into scrapbooking, and I just got a new digital camera. My goal is to take at least one picture every day!
- Read more often. I seem to be convinced that when I'm in school, I don't have time to read. Time to prove myself wrong.
- Dance. I'm rejoining dance club, but I'm thinking of becoming more like Ellen DeGeneres and busting a move whenever I feel like it.
- Land an awesome (and paid!) summer internship. I've already started applying — go me!
- Become more eco-friendly. I've got a list of little ways to do this, but if you have any pointers, let me know.
-Take up yoga. I did it once at summer camp and felt so relaxed — I need that relaxation back in my life!
I'm sure as the year progresses I will add more goals onto my list. For now, here's to hoping that I accomplish everything that I have already set out to do.
What are your New Year's resolutions?
Take a look at this car and guess the one person that could be driving such a monstrosity. Yes, this custom-made Barbie pink Bentley is none other than Paris Hiltons new ride. Well, it certainly screams Paris Hilton, its like the pink bat mobile. I mean, here at CosmoGirl we certainly love pink. But would you ever drive something like this?
Ill be the first to admit that I am a bit celebrity obsessed, obviously, but this is just plain crazy. SocialiteLife tells us that the tissue Scarlett Johansson used to blow her nose on the Jay Leno show last week sold on ebay for $5,300. What is someone going to do with that? Frame it? Would you ever buy something that was used by your favorite celebrity?
It must be hard being married to or even dating a musician they tour for months at a time and are surrounded by other women. Its rough even if you are Miss Jennifer Lopez. But according to SocialiteLife, JLo makes sure Marc Anthony stays faithful while hes away and shes home taking care of the babies by having one of her assistants travel with him and keep an eye out. Do you think this is crazy or just a good precautionary tactic? Let me know.
Xoxo,
Megan

A reverse French Braid is just like a regular French Braid, but you cross the left and right strands under the middle strand, instead of over it. Here's how:
1. Pick up a chunk of hair where you want the braid to begin. Divide it into three equal selections.
2. Cross the left section under the middle section, then cross the right section under the middle section.
3. Now, add a small piece of hair along the left side of the braid (not from the original chunk you picked up) to the left section, then cross the left section (with the newly added piece) under the middle section.
4. Next, add a small piece of hair along the right side of the braid to the right section, then cross it under the middle section.
5. Continue braiding (making sure to cross the hair under, not over) and adding new sections of hair as you go.
6. When all of the hair you want incorporated is part of the braid, braid loose ends (if there are any) and secure with an elastic or barrette.
Im sure, by now, youve all been accustomed to me blogging about Twilight.
Ive really enjoyed it, and loved that what I thought would be the culmination of my Twilight blogging was a fun review of the movie. But, I was wrong.
I write today because of the rumors I have been hearing from fellow Twilight-ers and gossip sites like Perez Hilton. Word on the street is that Summit Entertainment is looking to replace Taylor Lautner as Jacob Black in the upcoming sequel, New Moon.
To be quite honest, I think its a pretty good idea.
Normally Im not a fan of switching actors for sequels, but if you think about the plot of New Moon and how drastically Jacob Black changes from the first book to the second, it almost makes sense to cast an older actor. Dont get me wrong, I love Taylor, but Im sure hell have no problem finding work now that Twilight has become such a box office success!
The rumors on Perez say that Michael Copon, who played Brookes love interest Felix on One Tree Hill, is campaigning for the role. Personally, I think he would be a good match hes tall, has the correct skin complexion and is incredibly cute!
Im also really excited about the new director, Chris Weitz. I think Catherine Hardwicke did a wonderful job with Twilight, but I think a new perspective will give New Moon exactly what it means. If you think about it, the plots of both books are completely different, so the switch in directors may prove to be very beneficial to the outcome of the film!
What do you think about the new director? Who should play Jacob Black in New Moon?
Has the world of fashion gone mad?
I'm the first person to rationalize a completely ridiculously priced purchase, especially if that purchase is clothing or shoes. But, The Row (Mary-Kate and Ashley's luxury line) has taken paying for a label to a completely absurd new level.
Leather leggings. Mull that idea over for a second and try to imagine how much leather leggings could possibly cost.
Everyone I know has a legging line: Lindsey Lohan (LNA), American Apparel, Top Shop and what's more is that even premium designers, like Philosophy, La Garconne, and Les Chiffoniers have leather leggings for an already crazy price point of $400-$700. Yes, for leggings. Now, here comes the sticker shocker (apparently) of leggings, the most expensive pair I've ever seen: $1,700! For one pair of leggings.
I had the honor to touch these royalty-like leggings as I was shopping the sales at Bergdorf Goodman's over the weekend. I was walking by a table of jeans and saw a crumpled pile of leather on top of a stack of blue denim. I picked up the leather pants, turned them over and around and thought, "These are really cool!" I definitely had to have them. I started rationalizing spending the likely $350 they were priced at, until my eye caught the price tag. At first I thought, "Wow! What a steal! Only $170!" Then, I looked at the price tag again. Nope, $1,700. All I could do was let out a huge snort-filled laugh (you know, the kind you're really embarrassed happened), I crumpled the leggings, dropped them on the table, and kept on looking.
To Mary-Kate and Ashley: You are not Chanel. However, if you would like to send me a free pair of these leather leggings, I will gladly write about how they are truly awesome.
What's the most money you've spent on one item? How much would you spend on genuine leather leggings?
xoxo,
Deanne
