DIY: Pillow Talk

Step 1: Get half a yard of pink brocade (about $11/yard at fabric stores) and cut it into two 12-by-12-inch squares.

Step 2: With the brocade face up, sew a ribbon border (we used 1/2-inch-wide brown satin, $1/yard at sewing stores) 3 inches in from each side of one of the squares.

Step 3: Place the two squares together (brocade in) and sew three of the sides closed.

Step 4: Flip the pillow right side out, stuff it with batting ($5/bag at sewing stores), then handstitch the opening closed.
