Wouldn\'t you love to have this as your own closet? The wardrobe closet is huge (and most of this is just the actors\' winter attire!). All of the clothes are carefully organized by name, with styles as diverse as the characters themselves. The younger actresses, like Kristen Alderson (Starr) and Brittany Underwood (Langston), get to wear a range of fun designers, like Butterfly Dropout, Delia\'s, Juicy Couture, and Betsey Johnson.

After getting into her sequined party dress, black tights, and knee-high boots, Kristen returns to makeup to be dusted with a bronzer. Most of Starr\'s looks on the show are very natural, so hair and makeup generally don\'t take more than an hour.

Kristen said working with her hottie costar Brandon Buddy (Cole, Starr\'s boyfriend) is always a treat. When Brandon was first offered the part, he moved to New York City without knowing anyone. Kristen, her mother, and her younger brother (who is also on
OLTL) made it a point to hang out with the new cast member and make him feel welcome both on and off the set.

Kristen remains totally down-to-earth despite her awesome acting career, which began when she was 5 and appeared as Molly in
Annie. When people recognize her or stop her on the street for an autograph, Kristen said she\'s always surprised. \"I\'m always like, \'Me? You want to talk to me?\'\" she said.

Upstairs from hair and makeup are the sets for the show. Ultra Violet is the nightclub where Starr\'s sweet 16 will take place. Moments before the actors arrive on the set, one of the show\'s producers checks with a stage manager that everything is in place and ready for taping.

Next to the set for Starr\'s birthday party was this stage. Guess who performs here? That\'s right -- Mary J. Blige! She\'ll perform on the show with her entire band and will sing her newest single, \"Just Fine.\" She sang live for the taping with her band and was amazing! Plus, the concert she gave was superprivate, since there were only about 30 people on the set.

With the actors and extras on the set, it\'s almost time to begin taping. In front, the actors in purple and black will play the waitresses and bartenders. Behind them are the guests of Starr\'s sweet 16. Getting everyone ready can take a long time. This particular day of taping lasted from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.! Talk about a long day!
