The scoop: This spin on traditional self-help books is written in the form of a series of letters to an anonymous young woman, with Hill (CSI: NY and author of 2006’s Letters to a Young Brother) dispensing honest but still uplifting advice on everything from finances to relationships. He’s smart about it too: Between each of his letter-chapters are shorter “e-mails” and quotes that offer encouragement and advice from cool women like Zoe Saldana, Ruby Dee, Kirsten Dunst, and Michelle Obama.
