The scoop: Agnes and Honey live at Mount Blessing, a fictitious religious commune just outside of Fairfield, Connecticut. They’re best friends, but they can’t seem to agree on their feelings about enigmatic leader Emmanuel, who insists that everyone under his control live by a rigid set of rules, complete with harsh punishments. When Agnes’s brother is critically hurt because of Emmanuel’s rules, the girls must leave and adjust to life on the outside. Will their friendship survive the change?
